Making a Video for Make-A-Wish

How cool would it be to create your own video game? Pretty cool ... especially if you're a creative 16-year-old and you get to work with a team of professional game developers to turn your dream into a reality. We partnered with the Make-A-Wish foundation's Alaska & Washington chapter to document the incredible story of Mason and his new game.

At the age of 5, Mason was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Now 16, he takes 70 pills a day along with a long list of other therapeutic treatments. When Make-A-Wish chose Mason, his mom was thrilled he would have such a positive goal in his life.

Though he'd never worked on a game before, Mason's team of wish granters at DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA were ready to help. They took his creative vision, story line, and characters and developed Lord of the Bats. In this video, Mason gets to see the finished game for the first time.
