Do you know Craig?
He’s the “fun at parties” kind of guy. He would make a great travel buddy. Maybe it’s his quick, self-deprecating humor. You always end up feeling better when he’s around.
But, when he steps in front of the camera, all of that disappears. At least it did for Craig’s first video. Let’s just say it was not the smoothest ride. He was nervous and made some mistakes while reading his script, which made him even more nervous.
Have you ever been in Craig’s shoes?
HOW TO GET YOUR GAME FACE ON
Craig decided to up his on-cam game and went through our one-on-one Performance Bootcamp coaching. When he was done, he said it reminded him a little of his college football days. No, not the sprints and drills. It was the mental side of video that was tripping up Craig, and he needed help to get out of his head.
We sat down for a 30-minute session to find out what made him tick and what helped him relax. Idea Kit record sessions are supposed to be fun, and we wanted Craig to feel comfortable like he’d just won the game.
Together, we created a list of pre-shoot activities to help him get in the right headspace. Just like you’d prepare for a big presentation, doing some prep work for a video shoot can alleviate the stress when it’s time to record.
All that prep work paid off when we recorded the video the second time.
Craig was pretty excited, if the whole thing weren’t remote, there would’ve been a celebratory Gatorade shower involved.
Our Performance Bootcamp is all about finding what works for you. If you’re ready to engage your audience and show up as your authentic self in your videos, here’s the link to get started:
